Thing is, all these years I thought it meant Goddess Durga in Bengali (Aushit). Turns out, thats what my mother's name means! Goes to show tricks your mind can play when ur grandparents tell u too many names and meanings on one day as she sits with you cutting vegetables in her garden and you're sitting at her knee, a jumpy eight year old, and then you try and remember that information years later when a balding col-something-sharma pulls your cheeks and says, "So beta what does your name mean?"
